Get With The Program: The Join The Band Workout
May 4th
Hi there! Itâs Get With The Program time again. This workout was literally created in my driveway the other day when time ran short and I used my resistance bands and my bodyweight for an awesome workout. As Iâve mentioned before, I love the feel of using bands instead of traditional weights. Plus theyâre portable, cheap, and super easy to use.
For this workout I had limited time, so for those of you on the go, or perhaps away on vacation or a business trip, itâs perfect. It should only take about 35 â 40 minutes and of course itâs a More >
Get With The Program: The Weight A Minute Workout
Apr 4th
Hi there – I hope youâre all doing terrific. Itâs time for another Angry Trainer workoutâŚ
I really enjoy writing these programs for you and today is no exception.
Todayâs full body workout is all about time – 1 minute to be exact. For each exercise youâll perform a number of reps and keep moving for an entire minute. The idea is to not stop and continuously move from one exercise to the next, so choose your weights carefully. In addition, youâll be alternating exercises from upper to lower body. This workout will show you that time has a way of sneaking More >
Get With The Program: The 50/50 Workout
Mar 21st
Hey everyone. How are you all doing? Itâs Get With The Program time againâŚ
Today Iâm introducing 50/50, in which half of the workout is straight, full body weight training, and the other half consists of cardio and calisthenics.
The weight training features super-set style training, and youâll be performing two exercises for the same muscle group back to back. In addition, the body is divided in half as well; upper and lower. The beauty of this workout is that YOU chose which half to do first – either weights or cardio. Try switching it each time for a new stimulus.

Get With The Program: Guns Nâ Poses
Mar 15th
Hey there? How are your workouts going?
Today Iâm giving you a workout right out of my bodybuilding playbook. I used to train my chest and biceps together at the start of each week. Yeah, itâs a bit slower paced than my famous circuits, but it does pack on the muscle! Give it a go for an added stimulus.
Why is it called the Guns Nâ Poses workout? Well the fact is a lot of people only train the muscles they can see in the gym mirror, earning the nickname âmirror bodybuildersâ. And few muscles get flexed and posed as much as the More >
Back To Basics: Biceps
Mar 1st
Todayâs Back To Basics is all about the guns!
Yep this weekâs muscle has evoked many a movie scene with cheesy lines like âwhich way to the beach?â, âare those licensed?â, and âwhoâs got tickets to the gun show?â. Yes, today is all about the Biceps.
Even though biâs, are one of the most over-trained and overdeveloped muscle groups on many people (including women), I still want to give you my favorite exercises for complete development, so you can make smart training choices.
First the science part: there are two âheadsâ, the inner and outer, that comprise the upper part of your arm, More >
Ask Alfonso: Out of Balance
Jan 12th
Hey Alfonso,
This may sound like a bit of a strange question but I have one pec bigger than the other â what gives?
I train my chest (and body in general) in exactly the same way with equal weights on both sides. I know my right side is a little stronger as Iâm right handed but how can it make such a difference?
Most of my friends canât tell the difference â but I can and I think it looks odd!
Any suggestions Alfonso â how can I balance out my body?
Yours
Roberto, New Mexico

TOP 10 EXERCISES THAT YOU’RE PROBABLY DOING WRONG
Nov 7th
It’s time for another Angry Trainer Top 10!
This time around weâre talking about poor exercise form and the common mistakes that almost everyone makes when working out. Over the years I’ve seen the same exercises repeatedly performed incorrectly by a great many people. This is largely due to misunderstanding what the exercise is trying to accomplish which prevents people from feeling the movement properly. And since a lot of us âlearnâ new exercises from friends in the gym, the quality of what you learn is only as good as the person teaching you.
So hereâs my list of the 10 Exercises Youâre More >
TOP 10: MOST WORTHLESS EXERCISES
Oct 18th
Here we go again with another Angry Trainer Top 10!
This time around weâre tackling EXERCISES – more specifically, exercises that I feel are a complete waste of your time.
Yes, all exercises are NOT created equal and while you think any form of exercise is useful, certain machines and movements seem to have been invented simply to prey on peopleâs desperation to get fit or fix their stubborn âtroubleâ areas. These exercises mislead users into thinking theyâre training specific areas when they’re not â and are pretty much a complete waste of timeâŚ
So here we go â in no particular order – More >
