VIDEO: The Bodyweight Blast Workout
Mar 24th
I hope you’re all enjoying the Angry Trainer workout videos because I’m busting my butt every time we film them! In fact I remember when we shot this one that I was surprised at how hard it was!
This new program is called The Bodyweight Blast Workout and I programmed it specifically for trainees who don’t have any equipment to hand, but still want a great workout with some exercise variety.
This routine uses all bodyweight exercises, so it’s also great to use while away on vacation, a business trip, visiting family or just as a nice change of pace. But don’t More >
Ask Alfonso: Should I Count Calories?
Apr 27th
Hi Alfonso,
I’m wondering what your thoughts are on calorie counting? Do you believe calorie counting is necessary for people to stay at their preferred weight? I’ve counted calories and it’s always frustrating to me. Almost as if I’m a failure for not being able to just eat the right amounts of food for fuel.
I find counting calories makes me MORE obsessed with food; even eating when I’m not hungry to make sure I get “enough” calories. And I have feelings of guilt if I go over my daily allowance. It’s a vicious cycle. What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Chrystal

Ask Alfonso: Can I Really Get Ripped at Home?
Mar 9th
Hi Alfonso!
I have a quick and concise question: I was told recently by a Physical Education teacher that there is no way to achieve a lean, ripped body simply by following a consistent bodyweight + interval training routine at home (while following a clean diet). She said she was qualified to say that.
In your professional opinion, is it indeed impossible? Is it necessary to go to the gym and use machines for those types of results? I ask because I found her opinion strange, especially since I now do that type of training at home with Zuzana from Body Rock More >
Ask Alfonso: Tummy Trouble Too!
Mar 4th
Alfonso,
I have lost about 90 pounds in the last 2 years and now I’m at 210 pounds. I do cardio and abs to try to lose this gut but it doesn’t seem to be working. I run about 3 ½ miles a day and can run 1 mile in 6:30.
I also have excess skin so I THINK it makes me look bigger than I am but I want to lose as much weight on my core and back so I can get a tummy tuck. It doesn’t feel as though I am reducing fat in my stomach area, any More >
Testing The Trainers: Zuzana / Bodyrock TV
Feb 25th
Hey there everyone – it’s Testing the Trainers time again!
I recently received an email from Olga, a reader who wanted me to check out internet sensation Zuzana and her website www.bodyrock.tv.
Here’s what Olga wrote:
“It’s really refreshing to see a trainer who isn’t willing to subscribe to new and trendy fitness and nutrition trends. I’ve been following www.bodyrock.tv, and I was wondering what your opinion about the site was – do you think the fitness tips and exercises seem sound, as well as the nutrition advice? What do you think?â€
What’s interesting is that my web designer Richard had already showed me Zuzana’s website More >
Ask Alfonso: Class Time?
Feb 16th
Hello Alfonso,
My local gym runs a range of classes for members – all of which are free such as spin classes, yoga, boxercise and high intensity aerobics.
My girlfriend and I want to take full advantage of our gym to make the most of our membership fees – but what kind of classes would you recommend Alfonso? What classes do you think are a waste of time – and which work? And how should we incorporate them alongside our weights and cardio routines?
Thanks

Ask Alfonso: Tummy Training Timetable
Feb 14th
Hi Alfonso,
I know you get asked abdominal questions all the time – but I really want your advice!
Summer’s on the way and I’d love a firmer stomach by the summer. My friend says I need to train abs every day, for at least 10 minutes per workout. But my other friend says that’s overtraining and twice a week is fine.
What do you say Alfonso – how much is two much, and how should I incorporate ab training into my regime?
Thanks
Sandy, Bay Ridge
ASK ALFONSO: WINTER WORKOUTS
Nov 26th
Hi there Alfonso,
My question concerns motivation and getting my butt to the gym.
I live in New York and I can already feel the winter months closing in and the temperature dropping. My concern – I really struggle to work out when it starts getting cold!
You see I work out in the mornings before I go to work and I find it REALLY hard to get out of bed on a cold, dark day and drag myself to the gym – especially for a full on workout. It’s just always so much easier to work out in the summer months.
